ABOUT US
CHAMP'S CAMP was set up as a social enterprise by ABA Boxing Tutor, Personal Trainer and Group Fitness Instructor Barrie Scougal in January 2008 in the small Cumbrian town of Brampton, 5 miles from his home city of Carlisle.
Operating from a school gym running 3 weekly sessions CHAMP'S CAMP started generating interest from a variety of bodies including the local housing association, The Riverside Group and Cumbria Constabulary for it's focus on RESPECT and DISCIPLINE amongst those attending the sessions.
CHAMP'S CAMP was asked to provide regular sessions across the Carlisle area, particuarly in areas of high Anti Social Behaviour amongst youngsters, and areas of social deprivation. These succesful sessions proved to be the building blocks of becoming a registered charity and to work with other groups such as the Youth Justice Centre in West Cumbria, YOUNG CUMBRIA in Penrith and various local Secondary and Primary Schools.
CHAMP'S CAMP now run various fitness based sessions for a whole variety of organisations and is going from strength to strength as it launches into a new and exciting era as a new Charitable Organisation, hoping to spread its instuctor network across the UK to bring CHAMP'S CAMP to.more areas and reach more youngsters.
