MISSION STATEMENT
The purpose of CHAMP'S CAMP is to promote the values and disciplines used by professional sports people and fitnes professionals. Our ethos is:
‘respect, discipline, self confidence, and physical fitness’
Our aim is to help children and young people improve their feeling of self confidence and self belief. We will improve their physical conditioning, offer advice on training and general health and fitness issues. We will improve their interpersonal and relationship building skills and teach them the technical skills needed to become a trained athlete and well conditioned sports person.
Hand in hand with this is the ability to learn a self defence skill in the form of boxing. We aim to tackle the growing problem of childhood obesity, where 1 in 5 children in primary school are now obese through stressing the importance of living a healthy, active lifestyle.
We use methods such as non contact boxing, various types of fitness classes and use multi skills games looking at speed, agility, balnce & co-ordination in youngsters to help improve their skills and fitness levels.
We hope to generate a feeling of pride in being a club member, a feeling of pride in being a member of the local community and most important of all a feeling of pride in themselves. All our camps are run with a strict code of conduct that invokes a ‘3 Strikes & Out’ rule.
We do not tolerate bad language, poor timekeeping, incorrect kit, back chat and bullying in any form. Indeed, anyone found to be bullying will be instantly removed from the club. We will work with the local community leaders and police to deal with members found to be involved with any anti social behaviour in the local community outside of club hours using the same ‘3 Strikes & Out’ rule.
